I Spent Years
Searching for Love
in All the Wrong Places.
Then a solo trip to a quiet island in Thailand changed everything — and I finally came face to face with the person I’d been running from all along. Myself.
More Than a Blog — A Lived Journey
Hi there, lovely soul. I’m Ava — a writer, self-love advocate, and someone who spent the better part of her life searching for worth, belonging, and love in every place except the one that mattered most: within herself.
I know what it feels like to grow up never quite measuring up. To chase affection and approval from others — telling yourself that if enough people loved you, the emptiness would finally go away. I know what it’s like to watch a marriage fall apart, to grieve a parent who never once said “I love you,” and to find yourself at rock bottom wondering, Is this really all there is?
I also know what it feels like to find your way back — and that is exactly why I’m here.
“I finally realized I had spent my whole life searching for love on the outside — and had never once thought to look within.”
Self-Love Matters was born from that realization. It’s the community I desperately needed but couldn’t find — a safe, warm place for anyone shaped by family wounds, painful relationships, or a lifetime of putting everyone else first, who is quietly, courageously ready to come home to themselves.
